August in Olympic Valley — quick questions

The stuff guests ask before booking a peak-summer trip.

The cabin is ½ mile from the Village Plaza where the festival is held — walking distance both ways. With 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, it's a great group stay for the weekend. Book 2+ months ahead for early August.

It's peak summer. Warm days (70s–80s), cool mountain evenings, lake at maximum swimming temperature, and a steady stream of festivals through the month. The aerial tram still runs to High Camp's pool, and trails are at their best after July's snowmelt fully clears.

Olympic Valley is about 30 minutes from Homewood where Concours is held. Many guests prefer staying on the Olympic Valley side because it's quieter and gives easy access to the rest of the lake. Drive down for the show, drive back for dinner and Bluesdays at the Village.

Smoke is unpredictable but usually less of an issue in early August than late August or September. We monitor air quality and will share an honest update if conditions are poor before your check-in. The cabin has good HVAC for indoor air quality.

Reggae Festival weekend (Aug 3–4), Concours weekend (Aug 7–8 — also overlaps Truckee Music Fest), and Brews, Jazz & Funk weekend (Aug 17) are highest demand. Book 2–3 months ahead for those. Mid-month weekdays have more flexibility.
